The Virtual Wellness Community is designed to enhance access to our free cancer support services through the use of technology and to minimize common barriers to care.

In 2002, TWC launched The Virtual Wellness Community (TVWC) to provide free, professionally-led online support groups for people affected by cancer.  TVWC is the result of TWC’s groundbreaking pilot study with Stanford University and UCSF looking at the effects of online support groups for women with breast cancer; it found that women who participated in online support groups had a decrease in depression and anxiety and an increase in their zest for life and spirituality.
