Salem, MA – Oct. 16, 2007 – The Wellness Community-Greater Boston, a non-profit organization providing free support and education
services for people with cancer and their loved ones, today announced that Salem Mayor Kimberley Driscoll will ceremoniously
cut the ribbon at the grand opening of its North Shore facility, The Wellness Community-Greater Boston at the Susan de Vries
Circle of Hope (TWC at Sue’s Circle). The celebration will begin at noon at 76 Lafayette Street in downtown Salem on
Tuesday, October 23, 2007. Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by October 22, 2007 to 617-332-1919 or via email at sfuller@wellnesscommunity.org.
TWC
at Sue’s Circle provides professionally-led support groups, educational workshops, nutrition and exercise programs,
and mind body classes to help people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation
and restore hope regardless of the stage of their disease.
Sue’s Circle of Hope is named after The Wellness Community’s dear
friend, and 2005 Gilda Radner Award honoree, Susan de Vries. Sue courageously fought her breast cancer,
undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and hormonal and pharmaceutical treatments. Her family and
friends embraced her cancer and were always by her side to provide the emotional support she so often needed.
Sue relished every day of her life and was an inspiration to so many people literally fighting for their lives.
It was Sue’s dream to establish a Wellness Community in the North shore.
