The Wellness Community-Greater Boston Announces the Crystal Campaign
Newton, MA – April 16, 2007 - The Wellness Community–Greater Boston (TWC) a non-profit organization
providing free cancer support, education and hope today launched The Crystal Campaign to partner with Greater Boston
corporate givers in an effort to secure the necessary funding to continue to serve the increasing number of men, women and
families living with cancer.
The Crystal Campaign will enable TWC to begin to focus on four initiatives.
The first initiative is called the Program Presence Expansion (PPE), which is a focus on expanding TWC to new geographical
locations around Greater Boston. The second is an effort to provide new avenues to deliver programs to participants. The third
is an initiation of a new outreach event. The fourth is the development of new awareness initiatives and service offerings
to meet the immediate needs of TWC participants.
In 2008, TWC will celebrate 15 years of providing the gold
standard in psychosocial support and education. The Campaign has been named after the Crystal, the traditional 15-year anniversary
gift. During the gathering of a crystal, it is crucial to stabilize the internal stresses of the crystal. Like the gathering
of a crystal, TWC provides free support through participation in professionally-led support groups, educational workshop,
nutrition and exercise programs, and mind/body classes.
“The Crystal Campaign will allow us to provide resources an increasing number
of participants,” said Ronald Lipof, president and CEO of TWC. “TWC’s professional programs teach vital
skills to help regain control, reduce isolation and restores hope to people who are literally fighting for their lives.”
