On this site you can learn to manage the difficulties of caring for a loved one with cancer while taking care of yourself. National Alliance for Caregiving NAC is dedicated to providing support to family caregivers and the professionals who help them and to increasing public awareness of issues facing family caregivers. In addition, they offer research on caregiving and caregiving products. They are a great resource for searching for caregiving resources like books, videos, and other multimedia. National Family Caregivers Association Geared towards family caregivers, this organization provides advisory services, prescription drug discounts, as well as newsletters and up-to-date caregiving information. Lotsa Helping Hands Provides information and tools for friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors to simply and immediately assist loved ones in need. This site can help you organize meal deliveries, transportation and other needs that cancer patients might require. Well Spouse Foundation A national group for husbands, wives, and partners of chronically ill patients, the Well Spouse Foundation host discussion groups, publish newsletters and organize conferences, lectures, and outings for caregivers across the U.S. and Canada. |
