Mind-Body Programs

Reducing the stress of dealing with cancer is one of the most important things you can do to improve the quality of your life.  Ongoing programs such as meditation, relaxation and guided imagery, and Tai Chi/Qi-gong, can help you learn to quiet anxiety and regain a sense of balance and control.  Our mind body programs help you support and strengthen your immune system by dealing more effectively with stress and helping your body recover from the effects of cancer and its treatment.

Yoga 
Stretch, relax and breath.  Yoga integrates the mind, body and spirit to acheive a feeling of unity with the inner self. In this program you will learn stretching, relaxation and meditation techniques to help increase energy, reduce stress, alleviate pain, and cope with illness.  This program focuses on strengthening our capacity to stay in balance in the face of our constantly changing lives.

Meditation & Guided Imagery
Experience the healing qualities of meditation, visualization and relaxation by using techniques to focus and relax the mind and body. Learn to use and strengthen meditation practices to reduce anxiety and to cope with pain and discomfort.

Qi-Gong 
Qi-Gong is a system of Chinese health care that combines physical training, preventative, and therapeutic medicine.  It can provide stress reduction and relief from the symptoms of illness and treatment. 

Tai Chi 
This ancient form of Chinese exercise is best known for its relaxing, energizing and health-enhancing benefits.
